I'm practically bursting!!! Just got a call from my doctors office. Seems out of the 10 embryos, 5 made it to blastocyst stage and were frozen!!! This is huge for us in a few ways. I am horrible at visualizations. I have no idea why either. When someone tells me to close my eyes and visualize anything, I just can't. My acupuncturist is extremely fond of using visualization when she treats me. I try really hard to see what she suggests. Today I tried really hard. We are back from embryo transfer. We had a bit of really good news today. Of the 10 eggs that were not mature, 7 matured the next day. They keep the immature eggs for another day or two to see if any mature. All 7 of those embryos fertilized!! So we have 12 embryos!! We opted to transfer 2 embryos. They are both 8 cell embryos. Well, of the 16 eggs, only 6 were mature. Of the six mature eggs, five fertilized. I am a little disappointed that only 6 were mature. The one bright spot is that this time we had far better fertilization. The last cycles were only 50% fertilization rate so this is much better. Transfer will be on Saturday. Went to my acupuncturist today. Felt most of the needles. Seems that I'm holding a bit of tension in my skin. Not sure why. So we did a few deep breathing exercises and some visualization exercises and I felt better and stopped feeling the needles ( Read more... )
